After the latest downgrade from Goldman Sachs, Ola Electric now has zero Buy ratings from analysts. Not “few”, literally none. Goldman even cut the price target by ~50% and flagged rising cash burn + another fundraise likely in the next 12–18 months.
What’s crazier is how rare this is for a popular, high-visibility consumer brand. Ola was once pitched as the face of India’s EV story and now every analyst covering it is either Neutral or negative. The stock is already down ~84% from post-listing highs, and sentiment just keeps getting worse.
So I’m genuinely curious:
-
How often do we see zero Buy ratings on a widely known company like this?
-
Is it too early to ask whether this can turn into a zero-value stock if funding dries up?
-
and most importantly, at what point does “everyone hates it” become a contrarian signal? (if ever)

Feels like Ola is at a real crossroads here. Would love to hear what others think ![]()
